About CTUST

Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology (CTUST), formerly named “Chungtai Junior College” was founded in 1966 by Dr. Tien-Chi Chen (M.D., Ph.D.), the superintendent of Shun-Tian General Hospital, then upgraded to Chungtai Institute of Health Science and Technology in 1998 and then “Central Taiwan University of Science and Technology” in 2005. Among all the technological and vocational education schools, CTUST has served more than 55 years as one of the most completed medical technology education universities in Taiwan. CTUST provides not only technological expertise, but also education on humane concern and life caring with respect.

Over the last 55 years, CTUST has been well-developed in school affairs under the instruction of the supervisors from MOE, the endeavor of the presidents, faculty, staff and students. With the multiple entrance programs, the total number of students is about 8,000 at present. The alumni of CTUST are serving their professions domestic and abroad with favorable comments.

Office of Academic Affairs

The Academic Affairs Office of the school is divided into three units: the Registration and Curriculum Section, the Continuing Education Section, and the Teaching Development Center. Our goal is to serve a good teaching, research and learning environment for teachers and students in the school. The responsibilities of each unit are as follows:

Registration and Curriculum Division

Division of Continuing Studies 

Center for Teaching and Learning Development 

Responsible for the curriculum and registration affairs of the Day Department, including course affairs, examination affairs, student status and grade management. To undertake courses such as course start, course arrangement, course selection, examinations, teachers' leave, course adjustment, make-up courses, classroom and teaching space allocation, registration and statistical inquiry of students' grades, suspension, resumption, withdrawal, graduation, transfer of departments, etc. Responsible for the curriculum and registration affairs of the Continuing Education Department, including course affairs, examination affairs, student status and grade management. To undertake courses such as course start, course arrangement, course selection, examinations, teachers' leave, course adjustment, make-up courses, classroom and teaching space allocation, registration and statistical inquiry of students' grades, suspension, resumption, withdrawal, graduation, transfer of departments, etc. Responsible for teachers' teaching growth and promoting practical teaching; promoting students' learning effectiveness and developing self-directed learning skills; in order to enhance teachers' energy in teaching and learning, and pursue excellence in teaching. To undertake the selection of excellent teaching teachers, teacher consultation and guidance, planning and handling of teacher teaching growth, new teacher training, teacher teaching professional growth and high-quality teacher-student interaction professional growth community, teaching assistants, remedial teaching, planning and handling of student learning series lectures and other matters.
